Christian Music on the Web
Within the past five years or so, I’ve found that I love music put out by Christian/ Positive artists much more than the stuff that comes out on by secular artists. I love TobyMac, Chris Tomlin, David Crowder, Reliant K, Jars of Clay, Pillar, Superchic(k), Seventh Day Slumber and many others, just because of the positive message and the way each song shows a reliance on Jesus. On the web, there are several websites dedicated to Christian music. The first and most well known is Jesus Freak Hideout.com. This site keeps track of new releases from Christian and Positive artists, reviews the music and movies that come out, and also offers message boards for visitors to ask for prayer requests or just to reach out and have an online community with other people who’ve asked Jesus into their lives. There is also another site that offers daily podcasts about Christian Music, New Release Tuesday.com. Every day it has interviews with different artists about music and life in general. It is difficult to be a professed Christian in today’s society, even though the Christian religion is apparently the majority in the US. It is a relief for them to find sites on the Internet that they can be honest about their beliefs without feeling like they cannot profess and insult anyone else.
